Prof. Muhammad Ashraf Ganatra is a well-known Plastic Surgeon, who has served as Professor of Plastic Surgery at Dow University of health Sciences for 30 years. He has a rich experience of Cleft surgery and has been ally to many international organizations including Smile Train and Operation Smile. He is actively involved in philanthropic work of Cleft Surgery. At Al-Mustafa medical Center he had operated around 6000 cases in last 13 years. He is also involved in holding Cleft Missions (camps) in rural Sindh and operated more than 4000 cases in camp surgeries.
Prof. Muhammad Ashraf Ganatra is founding life member and past (2012-2014) President of the august body of Plastic Surgeons of Pakistan by the name of “Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons” (PAPS). He is founder of “Pakistan Cleft Palate & Craniofacial Society”. He is supervisor, examiner and Secretary of Faculty of Plastic Surgery of College of Physician and Surgeons of Pakistan. (CPSP).He is life member of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Society of Surgeons of Pakistan (SOSP) & Memon Professional Forum (MPF).
Prof.Ganatra had presented multiple papers in national and international conferences. In this regard has had visited United Kingdom, United States, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Brazil, Malaysia ,Egypt, Mexico, Dominican Republic.
Prof. Ganatra is actively involved in the teaching and practice of Plastic Surgery. As Professor at Dow Medical College, he had trained six FCPS and one MS Plastic Surgeons who are now qualified and are practicing.. He has 29 scientific papers to his credit published in journals recognized by PMDC (Pakistan Medical & Dental Council) and HEC (Higher Education Commission).
