After cleft palate surgery at correct age, the speech is usually normal. But in some patients there is some nasal tone in the speech after surgery. This usually get rectified with the passage of time and speech therapy, however in some patients, surgery for the improvement of speech is done and it’s called “Pharyngoplasty”. It is usually done after the age of 6 years.
